American "Ornamental" 19th C Penmanship
American business and calligraphic hands, primarily
developed in the latter half of the 19th Century or based on models
from that period, e.g. Spencer, Platt, Zaner, etc. This area tends to
attract many dedicated hobbyists and professional calligraphers, but
has not received the scholarly attention that it deserves.
